RJMARKS
RJMARKS are an indie-pop rock band from Nottingham, they are 'tipped to be the next big thing'. Their music can be described as uplifting, positive and heavily focuses on Richard's vocals and self-progressive songwriting style. The band consist of singer-songwriter and guitarist Richard Howell, Jake Buckley (lead guitar), Dicky Fountain (bass) and John Schofield (drums). They are due to release their first single 'Calling Out' in October 2014 which was written and produced by Richard Howell and James Littlehales, which shows 'obvious signs of great song writing' and 'Howell provides a heartfelt honesty to his lyrics'.
History
The band was formed in late 2013/early 2014 by Richard Howell. Richard and John's working relationship began in 2008 when they were in Nottingham-based Indie band The Limits together. After disbanding The Limits, Richard focused on solo work and played numerous times with Jake Bugg, with them supporting each other at a number of different gigs. When Richard started the RJMARKS project, he approached Jake and Dicky who at the time were in another Nottingham-based band called The Money. After a number of successful recording sessions and rehearsals it became clear that the project should be a band and not just a solo project. They were featured on BBC Introducing in May 2014. Summer 2014 saw them playing their first shows and taking in slots at various festivals and venues around Nottingham. They are due to embark on a small UK Tour this Winter and are due to play at The Hockley Hustle in October 2014 also.
