Rightline Gear specializes in car top carriers and truck tents but they also produce various other camping supplies and accessories. Products by Rightline are currently only available on the web.

Sub-branding

Rightline Gear markets their products using a family branding or umbrella branding approach. Similar products are grouped together in an effort to unify them through one advertising campaign. All of the car top carriers and accessories are advertised under PackRight, while all of the truck, SUV, and pop up tents fall under CampRight.

Specifications

PackRight encompasses all of the car top carriers and are unique with their production of patented Cargo Saddlebags, which fit on the back of the vehicle. Along with other PackRight cargo carriers , Cargo Saddlebags are made from 600D Hydrotuff material, a UV resistant, waterproof PVC backed polyester.

CampRight truck tents are available for all sizes of trucks ranging from Compacts and Avalanches to Long Bed 8" trucks. These tents come with all the expected features such as a rain fly and sky view ventilation, but also contain additional features like glow in the dark zippers, an access window to the truck's cab, and an extra large stuff sack for easy storage.

Competition

Larger corporations such as The North Face, Patagonia, and REI control a large portion of the camping industry. However, with concentration on customer service and satisfaction, smaller companies such as Rightline Gear are able to succeed through online sales.

Reviews

Pros

CampRight produces all their supplies using top quality materials especially in regard to water proof equipment. Customers seem to agree that having an open floor of the truck tent is an advantage because it is easier to add a mattress and clean up. CampRight pop up tents have the obvious advantage of convenience and involve an effortless set up.

PackRight car top carriers and cargo saddlebags are known for their spacious accommodations. Patrons tend to favor PackRight because its durable material allows for long road trips provides ample space for excess luggage.

Cons

CampRight truck tents can be difficult to set up for novices, though experienced campers find set up to be relatively simple. Those that camp in extreme weather conditions recommend a tent with slightly Thicker fabric to repel cold winds. These tents are meant for 3 seasons. The pop up tents have the opposite problem, as they are incredibly easy to set up but can be a nuisance to fold up.

PackRight cargo saddlebags come with a plastic bottom sheet to provide structure. Some people want to pack heavier items and will place a thin piece of plywood in the bottom of the bag. The car top carriers can allow a few droplets of water inside through their seams. The use of the waterproof liner is recommended to keep all water out.
