Reasoning From the Scriptures

Reasoning From the Scriptures is a topical Bible encyclopedia published by Jehovah's Witnesses. It differs from their more voluminous Insight on the Scriptures in many ways. It is smaller, has no visual aids and contains entries on topics not directly addressed in the larger "Insight" books.

The "Reasoning book" consists of 446 pages. At least 28 different bible translations are referred to in The Reasoning book.

The reference work was produced for use in the evangelizing activity of Jehovah's Witnesses, though not designed to engage in debate. (Pg. 7 paragraph 3) Seventy six Doctrinal topics such as the Trinity, Apostolic succession, Abortion and Sin are discussed and scriptural and secular references are presented to support conclusions. Sections entitled "Introductions for Use in the Field Ministry" and "How You might Respond to Potential Conversation Stoppers" contain commonly used scriptural conversation starters or, in the case of negative responses, conversation salvagers.
