Jehovah's Witnesses publications for youths
Jehovah's Witnesses have produced various publications intended especially for youths. Some of these include Bible stories presented in a simplified manner for young children to understand such as My Book of Bible Stories. Others provide advice relating to moral or doctrinal issues, such as the two-volume Young People Ask—Answers That Work.
My Book of Bible Stories
My Book of Bible Stories, first published in 1978 by the Watch Tower Society is a collection of 116 Bible-based stories. The stories are grouped in eight parts in alleged chronological order. There are large illustrations throughout the book depicting the scenes of various Bible stories. At the end of each story are scriptural references to portions of the Bible from which the stories are taken. The book was revised in 2004 with minor changes, the most obvious being a new cover. Questions have been added at the back of the book for each story to stimulate a child's mind to picture the scenes described.
The Witnesses say that the book has been used by some schoolteachers as a textbook in some countries. They attribute this to children of Jehovah's Witnesses introducing the book to teachers.
