Ratan Sharma-Guwahati
Sri Ratan Sharma - Guwahati is an industrialist of North East India. He has implemented and actively running various industrial projects. His main thrust, so far, has been Iron & Steel Industry.
For his business and entrepreneurship, Mr. sharma has received Rashtriya Gaurav Udyog Ratan Award by The INDIAN International Council for Industries and Trade dated 26 March 2009.
Early life
He belonged to a Brahmin family where only source of income was farming, he learned and practiced religious rites and rituals. His father moved to North-East India in early 70's to work there. When he was 15, in the urge of doing something, he also moved to North-East India to work and learn under his father AbOUT Iron and Steel and other metallurgical processes.
Career
Sri Ratan Sharma is the managing Director and chairman of Satyaratan Group. Starting his careers as a scrap trader, he has set up and installed manufacturing units in Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh. his first venture was in 1994, it was a small rolling mill in Assam. Mr. Sharma along with his business partners has set up a Ferro-alloy unit in Arunachal Pradesh.
The unit M/s SMS Smelters Limited was set up in face of heavy odds and poor power position in Arunachal Pradesh. The unit is successfully operating and has created record of sorts so far as availability of power is concerned.
Sri Sharma is the Managing Director of Satyam Ispat (North East)Limited. an integrated Steel Plant in the North EAst Region manufacturing M.S. Billets, TMT Bars & Rods having its factory at Banderdewa, Arunachal Pradesh.

He has been awarded and felicited by various organisation and groups. Recently DY-365 a TV channel from North East India awarded Mr. Sharma with Young Entrepreneurial Excellence Award in 2010.
