Radio Woolton

Launched in 2005 with The Beatles' song "Penny Lane", the station primarily broadcasts pop and dance music It is owned by Quarry Bank Records and is part of the Shoutcast network.
The idea of an online radio station came to Daniel Potter in June 2005. However he was unsure how to implement this idea. He first started the station on Yahoo's loudcast system however was annoyed at the lack of control the system had to offer. He then drew up plans to move this station to a medium in which he had full control. In the start of November 2005, Potter found Winamp's Shoutcast system which the station uses today. On the 8th of July 2005 Daniel met up with his old friend Richard Buxton and they went into a non-profit partnership to get the Radio Woolton project on the air. On December 15th 2005 that feat was accomplished and Radio Woolton broadcasted its first track The Beatles - Penny Lane. Since then Radio Woolton has been broadcasting to just over 200m people worldwide.
