Quantum co-founded Fisker Automotive (www.fiskerautomotive.com), and developed proprietary high performance plug-in-hybrid powertrain system (Q-Drive) that powers Fisker Karma and Karma S automobiles.
Quantum is also a manufacturer and provider of solar systems. Quantum acquired a 25% stake in German solar panel manufacturing company, Asola, in 2007. The company is the US distributor of Asola solar panels for commercial and residential use, manufactured by its partner Asola in Germany. It is also establishing a 45MW production facility for Asola panels in Irvine, California to supply the US market. The company is also managing the development of solar farms, commercial and residential installations and solar powered electric vehicle charging stations.
