Prolifics was founded in 1978 in New York City and first specialized in building high-performance transactional systems for many of the biggest firms on Wall Street. In October 2014, Prolifics announced that it had reached an in-principle agreement to acquire Stream Integration, a leader in the Information Management, Big Data and Analytics solutions space. The deal is set to close in December 2014.

Prolifics specializes in Business Process Management, SOA and Universal Connectivity, Enterprise Security, Infrastructure Optimization, Multi-Platform Digital Experiences, Data and Content Lifecycle Management, Business Analytics and Decision Management, Managed Services Quality Assurance and Testing and Application Migration and Modernization.
