Prathik Ponnanna
Shri Prathik Ponnanna, born on 18 December 1991, in Mysore district of Karnataka, completed his Primary Schooling in Rotary International School, Virajpet in Coorg district, Then he moved to neighboring Dakshina Kannada district to complete his High schooling, this was the time when he developed Patriotism and started following Many Freedom Fighters, He was inspired by Nethaji Subash Chandra Bose and Chandra Shekar Azad, He came across Kodava regionalism when he found out Kodava Naadh - was a separate state till 1954 and was merged with Karnataka by force.
He joined Sharada Vidyalaya PU College, Kodialbail in Mangalore to perceive his Pre-University Course. He completed his Bachelor of Business Management from St. Aloysius College, where he got elected as the First Kodava and Second Outsider to be elected as the President of Students' Union; He was the Secretary of Youth for Nation Mangalore City Chapter and also joined the active politics.
Politics
"I believe in democratic way of upholding humanity, this can be achieved unless and until our traditional politics changes" says Mr Prathik Ponnanna, Politics had a very huge impact on him when he was in his homeschooling, Going through a difficult phase in his life and also impact of the biographies of various Freedom Fighters of Indian Movement he got attracted towards politics. He was even chosen for the post of "School Pupil Leader" which he refused in his High school and later took oath has the Cultural Minister of the School. World as we know today is filled with hatred, India the next super power of the world is made to suffer due to the traditional politics.
He is currently the National President of Yuva Bharath Party, a party formed by Youths who are keen on joining the National Politics and Global President of Yuva Codava, Community NGO based in Bangalore & Coorg, Yuva Codava is the youngest and fastest growing organization in the Coorg region, with their effective campaign against drug trafficking, mafias, human trafficking etc. Active in Sports by representing university in Hockey, Volleyball, Football. He is the Youth face of Coorg and youngest politician from the region.
Adventure Lover
He is one of the rarest politician and adventurist who loves hiking, trekking, off roading,jeep racing, he has got enough time for his personal hobbies, Team building and motivating young people to grow are his strengths. He runs a group of Resorts and adventure clubs called Full Stop India Pvt Limited. This club provides different types of innovative adventurous games and sports for the people who love jungle life. A painter by nature, he is always seen carrying a pen and sketching about few things and likes to interact with people and know more about others, Photography is a passion for him to groom himself with latest fashions and trends.
Student Leader
"He was one of the rarest Presidents our college has ever seen" says Maithri Gowda a student studying in SAC Mangalore, he is innovative and always likes to have one on one interaction with his members rather than formal ways of communicating. He is known for his simplicity, "I remember those days when he used to be friendly with everyone without any attitude, right from Gardener to the Principal, he used to treat everyone as equal as he himself is" says one of the lecturers who taught him at the university.
Political Win
Becoming the President of Student Union was a turning point in his life, He used a simple strategy of bringing all religions together, when there was a huge anti - sentiment against the Migrant students, North - Eastern Students, Kerala Students, he brought these people under his banner and fought elections as a common man with winning more than 53% of vote share from different departments, around 14,000 students of SAC caste their votes in the elections which was the last democratic elections in the history of the College.
Kodava Community
Kodava Community to whom Shri Prathik Ponnanna belongs to is one of the rarest community mainly found in the Coorg Region of Karnataka, He represented Kodava Community has a leader. "Our community has produced such a young leader to the nation, we are proud of him and we are always with him" says Mr Nanjappa Devaiah, Ex Politician from the region. Not biased to any community or group he is the one politician in India who believes in Nation First and Religion Next! " I don't believe in Majority or Minority religions, for me everyone are as equal as Indians and nothing more than that" he once said in an interview for a private channel.
Personal Life
Prathik Ponnanna is the son of Mr Nerpanda Asthu Thimmaiah and Mrs Latha Thimmaiah Kaveramma, of Coorg district, "Personally Prathik is the one who can take all people together with their confidence" says Mr Thimmaiah. Born in a lower middle class family, his father is a farmer by occupation, "Although he was an average student in the school days, he was more interested in Politics and always would discuss everything with me" says Mrs Thimmaiah.
He is into many social campaigning against drug trafficking and human trafficking, creating awareness among youths to save our nation through their minor contributions and get into politics and making his dream of having all "545 Yuva MP's".
Yuva Codava
A Community Non-Governmental Organization working for the poor and against social evils in the Nation through effective campaigning among youths, Yuva Codava is one of the youngest and fastest growing organization in Karnataka, representing the Kodava community who roughly make up to 2, 00,000 of Nation’s 1.252 billion people, they are unique in custom’s and culture, they even have a separate language Kodava Thakk .
Yuva Codava was successful in stopping an attempt by Central Government to start up Railway service in Kodagu, by starting an online petition against the Railway and a need for good Multispecialty Hospitals and better healthcare in Kodagu.
Yuva Codava operates in 5 districts with around 200+ members it is one of the largest community NGO in India, it was started in the year 2011 in Mangalore by Shri Prathik Ponnanna.
Yuva Bharath Party
Formed in the year 2014 soon after the Lok Sabha elections, Yuva Bharath Party is the forerunner of Yuva Bharath Organization, Members who were initially working for Namo (Narendra Modi) Brigade, , NSUI (National Students’ Union of India), , DYFI (Democratic Youth Federation of India, , came together with a mission of electing highest number of young Member of Parliaments to both the houses.
Corruption, Women Empowerment, Women Safety, Secularism, Development was the main points from the agenda, the meeting of the group was held in Bengaluru on 18 June 2014 and the organization was launched on September 18, 2014. Yuva Bharath became completely operational on December 2014, with units in Mangaluru (Kudla), Bengaluru, Mysuru, Kodagu (Kodava Naadh - Coorg), Hassana, Mandya, Belagavi, Udupi districts, it also opened its recent unit in Kasargodu, Waya Nad, Kannur districts of Kerala.
Yuva Bharath will contest in 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections and eventually in the General elections 2019 with a hope of having a better development, at Yuva Bharath, members don’t believe in any Religion and we believe in Indian Nationalism.
