Phil Allen

Phil Allen was a drummer in different Liverpool New Wave bands. He is the brother of Enrico Cadillac Jr. (real name, Steve Allen), frontman of the influential band Deaf School. In May 1977, as a petition of also Dead School's Clive Langer, he founded the punk and post-punk band Big In Japan, being the drummer; he played in some songs which later appeared in the From Y to Z and Never Again EP, but became less inspired and left by December 1977 and January 1978, being replaced by Peter Clarke "Budgie", later of Siouxsie And The Banshees. Later, he joined The Egyptians, The Moderates and The Hunters (who released material in MCA), but he was more a session musician. As of the 1990's, he played in The Hail Marys, a more dance-oriented group, whom he owned the LAP records label. He also taught keyboards and guitar.
