Paul Oginsky

Work Life

Paul Oginsky, born September 3rd 1962 in Huyton, Merseyside is Youth Policy Advisor to David Cameron. Paul has become well known throughout the Youth Sector in Great Britain for his commitment to personal development work. Paul was a co-founder of the national youth charity Weston Spirit alongside Simon Weston, and is now founder and Director of his own personal development company, Personal Development Point.

Paul is a renowned speaker on relational management at events and conferences and has had numerous articles published on personal development and self-esteem in journals and sector magazines such as Children and Young People Now.

Political Influence

Paul has sat on a number of advisory boards for local and national government initiatives and continues to advise the Conservative Party on the development of a National Citizens Service. This programme aims to provide every 16 year old with access to a six week personal development programme.

Paul is a Vice Patron of Tomorrow’s People in Merseyside. Paul was an Advisor to the QCA on the Alternative Curriculum. Paul has a Post Graduate Certificate in the Supervision of Professional Youth Workers. Paul was recognised as having made a pioneering contribution to the nation by the Queen and was short listed for the Guardian Jerwood Award.

Paul’s simple description of an otherwise complicated area of education, has been widely discussed and accepted by many within the youth sector. Paul believes that personal development as ‘a process by which we learn from our experiences and become more effective’

Personal Life

Paul continues living in Merseyside UK; he is married to Julie with whom he has two children, Lee and Siobhan.
