Pablo Alvarado (soccer)
Pablo Alvarado (born June 24, 1983, in El Salvador) is a El Salvadorian-Canadian soccer goalkeeper, he plays for Real Toronto of the Canadian Soccer Premier League.
Career
He arrived from El Salvador in 1990, near the end of a 12-year civil war that devastated his homeland and raised in Toronto.
York Region Shooters
Alvarado came through the youth system when he was a 3rd choice goalkeeper for the York Region Shooters in the Canadian Professional Soccer League in 2002, but failed to dress in all of the teams 30 games.
Italia Shooters
Shortly after the York Region Shooters dissolved into the Vaughan Shooters, Pablo Alvarado worked his way up to becoming the 1st choice goalkeeper. In 2004, it happened. Pablo became the first choice goalkeeper. In total, he dressed in 45 games from 2004 to 2006, until the team changed names yet again into the Italia Shooters. Alvarado played in the 2006 CSL International Division Title match, and led his team to victory as the Shooters captured their first CSL title in their history. He is currently the 1st choice Goalkeeper for the Shooters. He has dressed in 30 games for the club, but was released in mid 2008.
North York Astros
In 2008, Alvarado signed with the North York Astros and joined after the season to Real Toronto.
Coaching career
He works Goalkeeper Coach in Liverpool, Nova Scotia and as Head Coach of the Theodore Roosevelt High School in Chicago.
