Our Kids Media, based out of Mississauga, Ontario is a media and publishing company offering research platforms to Canadian consumers. Our Kids Media websites reach approximately 3 million homes in Canada and internationally per year. Two annual magazines, Our Kids: Canada's Private School Guide and Comfort Life Retirement Living Guide are also distributed nationally.

History

Our Kids Media was founded in 1997 by award-winning photojournalist Andrew Stawicki and his wife, Margaret Stawicki. The company originated from a personal search for summer camps for their own children, leading them to identify a lack of centralized, reliable information for Canadian families. Andrew Stawicki, previously a photographer for the Toronto Star, utilized his background in storytelling and visual media to launch the company's first print guides.

In 1998, the company expanded internationally by launching services in Poland to support families navigating educational options outside the public system. Since its inception, the company has transitioned from a print-centric publisher to a digital-first media house, now reaching over 3 million families annually across its platforms.

Business Areas

The company operates as a third-party resource, unaffiliated with specific institutions, to provide impartial data across three main sectors:

  • Private Education: K-12 schooling options, including Montessori, International Baccalaureate (IB), and special needs programs.
  • Summer Camps: Overnight, day, and specialized recreational programs.
  • Retirement Living: Resources for senior housing and long-term care.
