Orbus software
Orbus Software is a London-based enterprise architecture and business process modeling software vendor that was recently named as a 'Cool Vendor' by Gartner Group. The main reason for this was the Microsoft Visio-based architecture of their modeling tool product, iServer. They have also been the subject of reports by Butler Group and CBDI.
Technology
Orbus explicitly markets itself as being centered on Microsoft Visio, TOGAF and BPMN. Visio is often used by organizations to model their enterprise architecture and business processes, perhaps because of its availability as part of the Microsoft Office suite. Microsoft has estimated that 40% of all Visio diagrams that exist are process diagrams. Conversely, Infoweek has reported that 60% of all process models in the world are documented in Visio. This has led to a number of modeling tools basing themselves on the Visio platform.
