Onecard
The Foodtown Woolworths onecard (commonly called onecard) is a discount and rewards card that is accepted at all Foodtown and Woolworths (excludes Woolworths @ Gull) supermarkets in New Zealand. onecard was introduced in 2003. In Foodtown supermarkets it replaced the Foodtown card, which still can be used as a onecard.
The actual onecard is exactly the same dimensions as a credit card, and are swiped through the EFTPOS handset at the checkout.
In an average week, 2500 grocery items are discounted to onecard holders, called a onecard discount. The customer must present their onecard to receive the discounts.
The onecard is also used as a rewards programme. For every $10 spent in store, the customer receives one reward point. When they accumulate 200 points, they receive a $15 voucher, which are sent out in January, May, and September. If a reward point is not claimed within 12 months, it expires.
Cheque ID onecard
A special cheque ID onecard, which is only different for a regular onecard in that it has the words "Cheque ID" written in yellow on the front, is required to be presented if paying by bank cheque. A regular onecard will not work.
