One Name One Child

One Name One Child (beginning 16 June 2009) is the biggest world internet charitable record. The record aims to join people from all around the world who will have their names displayed and registered on the official website and will symbolically contribute to charitable and humanitarian projects supporting children in Africa.

According to UNICEF's latest statistics, there are 149,771,000 children under the age of five living in Africa at the moment. The aim of the event is to get the same number of people participating in the record. The motto of the record is Add your name = you set a record + you save a child.

The One Name One Child Portal is currently available in seven languages: English, French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish and Slovak. Everyone who takes part in the record on the One name One Child website and donates a symbolic sum to the Life & Help Foundation, who are organizing the event, will receive a certificate of participation. The collected resources will create a base for supporting charitable and humanitarian projects in Africa. The help will be directed to places lacking drinking water, schools and medical facilities and to places where war conflicts cause humanitarian crises and make people flee their homes and live in refugee camps. In short, the internet record project connects people from all over the world in helping those who live in poverty and suffering.

Dividing of the resources will be overseen by Foundation Board, the highest body of the foundation containing five members. Charitable and humanitarian organizations can apply for financial help through their website.

Notes

The Life & Help Foundation was established in Switzerland in 2009.
