Nutopia (TV)
Nutopia is a television production company based on both sides of the Atlantic with offices in the UK and USA.
They focus on ambitious factual series of all types, as well as factually inspired drama. The companies first project is the 12 hour America The Story of US â described by the History Channel as âa groundbreaking initiative of epic proportions'.
Chief Executive and founder Jane Root has been responsible for shows such as Planet Earth (TV series), Man vs. Wild, Deadliest Catch, Dirty Jobs, Grizzly Man, Man On A Wire, The Office (UK TV series), Top Gear, Great Britons, Restoration, The Apprentice (UK TV series), Coast (TV series), Who Do You Think You Are?, The Weakest Link and Coupling (UK TV series).
The UK office is run by Managing Director Laura Franses who co-founded Nutopia with Jane in 2008 and was previously Acting Managing Director at Raw TV, COO of Amaze TV and Corporate Development Executive at RDF Media.
Other board members are Michael Jackson (television executive), senior advisor at IAC, Chairman of Universal TV Group and CEO of Channel Four, and Peter Bazalgette, former Chief Creative Officer at Endemol.
