Noushad Shereef

'Noushad shereef (born 10 December 1980), also known as Noushad, is an Indian cinematographer based in Kerala who works predominantly in Malayalam cinema.He made his debut as a cinematographer in the film Chempada(2008).In addition to Malayalam films,he also worked in Tamil and Hindi film industries. He received the Kerala State Television Award for Best Cameraman in 2017 for Kaligandaki. Noushad Shereef has also been associated with independent and experimental filmmaking projects, contributing to visual storytelling in low-budget and artistic productions. Career Noushad Shereef began his career as a camera assistant under cinematographer R. H. Ashok.During this period, he gained practical experience in cinematography by assisting several cameramen in the film industry.

He started undertaking independent cinematography projects in 2006 and later made his feature film debut with the Malayalam film Chempada in 2008. Over the years, he has worked on several films across different languages. Some of his notable works include Monayi Angane Aanayi, Saradhi, Oru Kuprasidha Payyan, Kinar, and Dahini: The Witch.[1]

In addition to feature films, Noushad has also worked on short films. His short film "Death Offer Life", which was shot entirely using candlelight, received recognized at several international film festivals. The film won Best Cinematographer awards from 34 countries and was also reportedly shortlisted for the 2021 Academy Awards.[2]

Personal life

Noushad Shereef was born in 1980 in Kerala, India, to Shereef and Soudha. He grew up with two brothers and completed his schooling at Holy Family Higher Secondary School, Cherthala, in Alappuzha district. He is married to Shemi Noushad. The couple has two children.
