North Wilts hockey club
North Wilts Hockey Club is a field hockey club based in Swindon. It is based at Dorcan recreation complex where the players train and play their home matches.
North Wilts run two mens team's who compete in the West and South Wales Hockey league. The ladies' teams compete in the West Womens Hockey league and are based in the Wessex Leagues. The club also runs a junior section.
In 2008 North Wilts achieved their England Hockey Clubs First status.
In the 2007-08 season North Wilts mens second team won the Wilts and N.E. Somerset 2 league title gaining promotion to Wilts and N.E. Somerset 1. North Wilts Ladies 1st team also won promotion to Wessex 1.
During the summer months North Wilts run a mixed team as well as hosting a well established summer 6s tournament over a weekend in July. In 2007 a Great Britain Vets team lead by former Great Britain goalkeeper Simon Mason won the tournament. In 2008 "The Prodigals", a team led by North Wilts Chairman Neil Buckley, won the tournament (G.B. Vets were knocked out in the semi-finals).
