Nola Adé

Aderinola Adeyemo, known by her stage name of Nola Adé, is a Nigerian-American musician and songwriter with a background as an entertainment lawyer. She released her debut EP, The Love Dance, in 2016 and has since been said to have a voice "like silk" and compared to the likes of Lauryn Hill and Chrisette Michele.

Early life

Adé was born in Chicago, Illinois. She is a first-generation Nigerian-American. Adé grew up listening to Nigerian gospel, Afrobeats, Chicago-inspired soul music, and jazz. She received private training of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences renowned vocal coach, Lyndia Johnson. She attended college at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign and law school at DePaul University. While in law school, she was a legal intern at Russell Simmons' Rush Communications in New York City.

Music career

2016: The Love Dance

Adé released her debut EP, The Love Dance, in 2016. It received positive reviews with her style labeled as "classic, effortless, natural soul." Her debut single on the album, "Love," highlighted a budding relationship and the second single, "Bittersweet," discusses a lost love.
