Nigeria Oil and Gas Intelligence (NOGIntelligence) is a weekly e-newsletter and quarterly journal founded and published by Remi Aiyela, with a mission to fill the information gap in the Nigeria oil and gas industry.
Foundation
NOGIntelligence started as a weekly e-newsletter providing the oil and gas and the wider financial community with actionable intelligence, news and data on the Nigerian petroleum industry. The very first issue of NOGIntelligence was published on the 18th of May 2012. It was launched in March 2013, having Nigeria's Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke as "special guest of honour" and former Dirctor, Department Of Petroleum Resources (DPR) as "the guest speaker." Remi Aiyela said, during the launch of the journal, that NOGintelligence came “at a time when investors from around the world had their eyes firmly on Nigeria” and were “thirsty for knowledge and information about our industry.” According to her, NOGIntelliegnce intended to “ensure that people from all sectors of the industry – from the drilling engineer to the energy lawyer to the environmental campaigner – find something relevant and of interest to them in every issue. There is something for everyone from every sector of the oil and gas industry.”
The magazine claims it has a "database of over 25,000 subscribers" including top level executives from the world’s leading oil and gas companies, investment banks, law firms, private equity firms, hedge funds, family offices and other corporations with an interest in Nigeria and Africa; thus making it a widely read source of news on the Nigerian oil and gas industry."
Growth
NOGintelligence recorded a milestone when its published its 100th edition of its electronic newsletter in July 2014. Since it started in 2012, NOGIntelligence has published nearly 1,500 news stories on the Nigerian oil and gas industry. Its partnership with The Guardian (Lagos) enabled it to reach many more thousands in print. It published the maiden edition of its print magazine, also called NOGintelligence, in May 2013. The magazine is designed to focus on extended articles and feature-length stories and interviews about the industry. Each issue has a special focus on a specific area of the industry. NOGintelligence magazine is also published online and is available to view in page-turning PDF format.

Remi Aiyela is the Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of Nigeria Oil and Gas Intelligence (NOGIntelligence). She is a United Kingdom-trained solicitor, accredited mediator, speaker and lecturer.
