Ninjaspy
Ninjaspy is a Canadian band made up of three brothers from British Columbia, Canada. They released their debut album Pi Nature, which was produced by Garth Richardson in 2007. Pi Nature was a big step forward for the band as they began to tour across Canada to promote the New album. Ninjaspy dawned the genre "skankore" or hardcore/ska, with their genre-crossing, unique sound. Ninjaspy have toured with the likes of Protest The Hero, Batoche, Whitey and What's He Building In There?.
On September 4th, 2009 the band announced during their 2009 Cross Canada tour kick-off, that they had signed with Zestone Records (Japan), and would re-release Pi Nature on the label.
2009 Also saw Ninjaspy perform during the Calgary stop of Kevin Lyman's Taste of Chaos tour, as well as the Vancouver stop for Vans Warped Tour playing early in the afternoon, yet drawing the largest crowd of all six small stages throughout the day.
2010 will see Ninjaspy back in the studio, writing and recording new material, once again with legendary producer Garth Richardson.
Live Performances
Ninjaspy is known for their energetic, crazy, and entertaining live shows. Their album may not have received much attention, but their live shows do. In a live review, CordMag said "Not a speck of the stage was left untouched by this band’s chaotic feet". CordMag also said that despite not liking the type of music, and being scared of the band when listening to the samples before the show, Ninjaspy "bloody well are entertaining". 1 The Coast said Ninjaspy enjoys "unconventional hairstyles, hats and an energetic live show". 2
