New World Record are a four-piece band from Cambridge, England, who emerged in the local scene after winning the Red Stripe Band Competition in 2005. From there, they developed a following which gained them airplay (as unsigned band of the week) on UK radio station XFM, as well as various other regional and online radio. More recently, they were chosen to be an 'Official act' at the 2006, In The City (festival) showcase 1 (Britain's answer to the SXSW festival).

The band are currently under the management wing of Heavenly Records, represented by Starsailor's Andrew Walsh. Though the band have yet to sign a recording contract, their own self-recorded E.P's have been selling through UK label Rough Trade's outlets.
