National Capital Soccer League

The National Capital Soccer League, (often referred to as NSCL) a youth boys and girls, premier travel soccer league based in the Washington, D.C.-Maryland-Northern Virginia region. The league was founded in 1965 and has affiliation with the Major League Soccer club D.C. United, US Youth Soccer, the Maryland and Virginia youth soccer associations and the Positive Coaching Alliance.

The league features league system based on promotion and relegation for its leagues. The league structure has a boys and girls divisions, which is broken down into age groups from under-8 to under-19. Top boys' clubs in the top divisions sometimes May Be promoted to the NCSL Select Premier League or the USL Super Y-League. Clubs in the bottom divisions sometimes may be relegated down to the Old Dominion Soccer League, for Virginia-based clubs or the Maryland Premier Soccer League. Top girls' clubs sometimes are promoted to the Washington Area Girls Soccer League or simply, WAGS. Others may be relegated down to ODSL or the MPSL.
