Mondo Film & Video Guide
The Mondo Film & Video Guide is a Detroit, Michigan based online film magazine. The website covers specifically B movies, horror, exploitation, silent era, experimental and cult films. The website is updated monthly, and features current and old film reviews, feature articles and InterViews. At times, celebrity filmmakers contribute to the site as well, most often that of filmmaker Josh Becker.
The site reports to have over 40,000 readers each month per Facebook. Connected members on Facebook and Twitter that follow the website receive film reviews via email, and also humorous tweets such as "Charles Manson Haiku's" and "Roadhouse Quote Of The Day." The site also functions as an interactive portal that allows readers to upload their own written film reviews and feature articles. The website features interviews with various cult film and television figures, such as Joel Hodgson, creator of the Peabody Award winning television series Mystery Science Theater 3000. Over the last year, the site has also featured interviews with Troma Entertainment's Lloyd Kaufman, experimental actors Nick Zedd and Jon Mortisugu, and B movie filmmakers Dan Golden and Greydon Clark.
As late November 2010, the site has researched and published various articles on topics such as 'The Favorite Films Of Stanley Kubrick' and 'Jerry Lewis Vs. The [...]'s, which claims to be the ultimate and complete resource of the infamous Jerry Lewis un-released film, The Day The Clown Cried. In Dec. 2010, the site published rare interviews with 80's teen idol, Ione Skye, comedy icon Fred Willard, and retired tabloid favorite actress, Shelley Duvall.
In March 2011, in conjunction with site contributor and author Mike White, the magazine launched an official radio show available via I-Tunes that has featured interviews with the likes of Dolph Lundgren, Ed Naha, Steve Railsback and Richard Rush.
