Miss Latin America 2003
Miss América Latina 2003 was the seventeenth international edition of the Miss América Latina contest, and the nineteenth overall. The final event was held on November 23, 2002 in Playa Tambor, Costa Rica. At the conclusion of the pageant, Maria Carolina Casado of Venezuela was crowned by outgoing titleholder, Claudia Cruz of the Dominican Republic.

Trivia
- Curacao and Portugal participated for the first time.
- Ecuador last participated in 2000. Panama, Paraguay and Uruguay last participated in 2001.
- Argentina, despite having participated in 2002, did not participate this year.
- Dominican Republic was oddly absent, having won in 2002. It was the first, and only, time that the outgoing titleholder's home nation was not represented.
- Brazil and Colombia also placed in 2002.
- Countries that had not placed for a while were Spain (1996), Mexico (1998), Puerto Rico (2000), Chile and Venezuela (2001).
- Venezuela's win was the country's third, tying it with Brazil and the Dominican Republic for the most wins.
