Miss Latin America 2001
Miss América Latina 2001 was the fifteenth international edition of the Miss América Latina contest, and the seventeenth overall. The final event was held on December 1, 2000 in Montelimar Beach, Nicaragua. At the conclusion of the pageant, Grace Martins of Brazil was crowned by outgoing titleholder, Dania Prince of Honduras.

- Uruguay last participated in 1998.
- Despite participating in 2000, Belize and Ecuador failed to participate this year.
- USA placed for the first time as a single entity, although the states Florida and Arizona had placed in 1985.
- Chile and Colombia also placed in 2000.
- Bolivia last placed in 1996, while Brazil and Venezuela last placed in 1998.
- Brazil's win was the first time a country won for the third time, breaking a tie for most wins with the Dominican Republic and Venezuela. Both countries would catch up, however, in the two following years (DR would win in 2002, while Venezuela would win in 2003).
