Miraz's Castle

Miraz's Castle is a very large castle which is mentioned in the four star movie The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince CASPIAN. In narnia, it was contructed by the telmarines during the Kings and Queens of Old absent for the past 1300 years. This castle was made on a huge, rocky cliff and the evil king miraz sits on its rightful throne, but at the end the of Prince Caspian, Caspian X becomes king and sits on the throne of the castle. On set of prince caspian, it took them AbOUT 3 months to construct the castle courtyard and that was all they needed to build because all the other outside walls, the movie crew used models of King Miraz's Castle. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian is actully the only film/book that has King Miraz's Castle mentioned in them.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian crew only constructed the castle courtyard so that the rest can be recorded by models that the crew had. The scenes that the castle is mentioned is the beginning where Prunaprismia has her baby and the telmarine army plan to kill Caspian, The meeting in the throne room, when King Miraz and Doctor Cornelius are in the library, The Castle Raid and when Caspian tells Peter,Aslan and Susan in the castle courtyard that everyone has gathered by the Oak tree on the edge of a cliff.

Telmarines

The telmarines are second group of human beings to enter Narnia. They started to conqer Narnia in 1998 (narnian time). Some of the Telmarines left when the Kings and Queens of Old were ready to leave Narnia for the second time. All of the telmarines came from a place on earth called Telmar. Not long after the telmarines invaided Narnia, Caspian X was born. He was born on the year 2209 (narnian time), and on the same year it was said that King Miraz murdured Caspian IX, Caspian X father.

King Miraz

Miraz is a cruel and unpopular ruler. Most notorious for banning the teaching of Narnia's pre-Telmarine history, he also levies high taxes and enacts harsh laws. He initially tolerates Caspian as his heir, taking the title of "Lord Protector" for himself, before ascending the throne while Caspian is still young. When his wife, Prunaprismia, bears a son, Miraz resolves to kill Caspian too, in order to clarify the succession. Caspian, warned in the nick of time by his tutor, flees the castle and forms an alliance with the "Old Narnians." Civil war ensues, culminating in Peter Pevensie defeating Miraz in a duel. Miraz is then killed in act of treachery by his counselor Lord Glozelle.

General Glozelle

Glozelle was a Telmarine lord in the service of King Miraz, he was also the general of the Telmarine army. During the Narnian Revolution Glozelle and fellow lord Sopespian plotted the death of their king. They planned to overthrow king Miraz and take over the kingdom themselves. After talking King Miraz into accepting the challenge to a duel with Peter Pevensie, Glozelle served as a Marshal of the Lists along with Sopespian for their king. During the Duel of Aslan's How, Sopespian betrayed and killed Miraz, blaming it on Peter Pevensie. Glozelle and Sopespian then attacked Peter Pevensie.

Lord Sopaspian

Sopespian was a Telmarine lord in the service of King Miraz. During the Narnian Revolution Sopespian had plotted with fellow lord Glozelle and Gergiore to overthrow king Miraz and take over the kingdom themselves. Their plan worked as they talked Miraz into accepting the challenge to a duel with Peter Pevensie. He was a Marshal of the Lists for Miraz along with Glozelle, and during the duel, Sopespian subtly killed Miraz (in the book, Glozelle killed Miraz), blaming it on Peter and convincing the Telmarines to charge the Narnians. The Telmarine Army, led by Sopespian, seemed to have the upper hand on the Narnians, but then the tide of the battle began to change when the Trees were awoken by Aslan and began to attack the Telmarines. During the course of the battle that Sopespian instigated, Glozelle was knocked out after hesitating when he had the chance to kill Caspian. Sopespian decided to retreat to the river, where he figured the Telmarine Army would have a decisive advantage over the Narnians, but when they got there, they found Lucy and Aslan waiting for them. Aslan roared and awoke the spirit of the river, who destroyed the main bridge, slaying a good number of Telmarines, and then seemingly consumed Sopespian individually.

In the book, he and Glozelle don't appear until the scene where Peter challenges Miraz, and Glozelle kills Miraz instead of Sopespian (as revenge for Miraz insulting him). Rather than being eaten by the river god, Sopespian is decapitated by Peter. In the BBC film, his role is the same except it is Glozelle who is killed by Peter, and Sopespian's fate remains unknown, however he is not seen at the end.

Prince Caspian

Caspian was raised until he was thirteen years old as the nephew ("adopted son") and heir to King Miraz of Narnia. By this time, talking animals apparently did not exist in Narnia, having been driven into hiding by Caspian's ancestors, the Telmarines. In fact, the talking beasts were thought of as nothing more than myth. Caspian was fascinated by these stories, but the nurse who told him these stories was dismissed by his uncle.

His next teacher, Doctor Cornelius, in reality has human and dwarfish blood. He teaches Caspian the sciences and history that his uncle wants as well as the stories of Narnia's true past. He also discovers that Miraz had killed his father Caspian IX in order to take the throne for himself. Eventually, Miraz's wife gave birth to a son, and Caspian has to flee for his life, taking with him Susan's magic horn, which Doctor Cornelius gives him; this horn will bring help to the person who blows it. He eventually meets the creatures that he once thought were myth; most of them agree to accept him as their king. When Miraz attacked this group, Caspian blew the horn, and summoned the old kings and queens back to Narnia. With Aslan's help, they defeated Miraz in what Lewis called the War of Deliverance, and restore old Narnia with Caspian becoming King Caspian X in 2303. During Prince Caspian it says that the Narnians awarded Caspian and let him become their king. By this Caspian X could be seen as the first Narnian king since the Golden Age.

Doctor Cornelius

When Doctor Cornelius is first introduced, he is to be the tutor of Prince Caspian X and to teach him the basics of art, science, history, mathematics and music. He eventually learns of Caspian's former nurse, who was like Cornelius, a half-dwarf, and learned that Caspian was interested and favorable of the past of Narnia, which he had been taught to be fairy-tales from his tyrannical uncle and adoptive father, King Miraz. Doctor Cornelius tells Caspian of Narnia's true past and that Miraz was a usurper who killed his father. When a son is born to Miraz, he helps Caspian escape the castle, saving his life, since he knows Miraz will want his own son to be King. Doctor Cornelius rejoins Caspian after he joins the Old Narnians, helping him organize an army and advising him in tactics. Cornelius is responsible for finding and giving Caspian Queen Susan's Horn, which transported the Pevensies back to Narnia, and sending Trumpkin to the coastal location of Cair Paravel to meet them. After Caspian ascends the throne, he makes Cornelius his Lord Chancellor.
