Mini Zoo, Bhiwani
The Bhiwani Mini Zoo (Hindi: भिवानी लघु चिड़ियाघर, हरियाणा, भारत) is located on Railway station road and opposite Mini Secretariat Bhiwani within the municipal limits of Bhiwani, Haryana, India which is 2 Km. away from Bhiwani Railway station and 4 Km. away from Bhiwani Bus stand.
The zoo is well connected by road and train with Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur and other important cities.
History
The Government of Haryana had earlier decided to close down the zoo, however, with the keen interest of Mrs. Kiran Choudhry the then Minister of Forests Department, Haryana, the zoo was revived by Central Zoo Authority, New Delhi in September, 2006. As a Part of modernization and providing best facilities to the animals in this zoo, a number of works are being carried out. These include construction of toe wall and cemented flooring of Hippo enclosure, tile flooring of paths, construction of three number of bird aviaries, construction of postmortem room, one treatment room and construction of animal enclosures.
As per the provision laid down in the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 (amended), it is mandatory to obtain permission for setting up zoo from Central Zoo Authority, Govt. of India. Accordingly the permission was sought and the zoo was accorded the status of Mini Zoo (small category zoo) on 14 August 2008.
Opening Hours & Entry Fee
The ticket window is on the gate. The rates of entry ticket are Rs. 10/- per adult and Rs. 5/- per child between 5–12 years of age. The zoo remains open for public from 9.00 AM to 6.00 PM in the summer and 9.00 AM. to 5.00 PM. in the winter.
Facilities
The zoo has all facilities for visitors and animals/birds in its captivity. Uninterrupted water supply is available to the zoo animals as well as visitors. There are two public toilets and a water cooler with water purifier for visitors.
Sanitary facilities, sitting arrangements, resting sheds and children park are also available for the visitors. Zoo’s outer boundary is enclosed by 2.4 Meter high wall all around the area. Power supply to zoo comes from Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and sufficient electricity is available as per requirement of the zoo.

Animal Adoption Program
The Forests Department, Haryana has started a scheme from 2011 for the adoption of animals and birds in zoos and deer park of the State to generate love for animals and birds. The adoption of animals on ceremonial occasions like birthdays and anniversaries etc. will prove to be unique gift for mankind towards Wildlife Conservation.

Interesting Incidences related to Zoos in Haryana
- Deer Park, Hisar, founded in 1970-71, is oldest among Zoos and deer parks in Haryana
- Haryana is now left with 5 tigers in captivity: 2 each in Mini Zoo, Bhiwani and Rohtak Zoo and 1 in Pipali Zoo
- In 2003, a baby Baboon was born in captivity in Pipali Zoo
- In 2009, tiger Apaya of this zoo attacked and killed another tigress.
- In 2011, tiger Apaya of this zoo entered the enclosure of another tigress Rani and attacked her. Rani died and was buried on the zoo premises.
- In 2011 another tiger Brondis had killed a caretaker in Bhiwani zoo.
- In 2014, 43 private school kids who were visiting Bhiwnai zoo were attacked by the bees.
