Metal Head (Jak and Daxter)

Metal Heads (also known as the Hora-Quan) are one of the many armies and enemies in the Jak and Daxter series. Metal Heads aren't always the same; there are many different breeds and varieties. These creatures were led by Metal Kor.

History

Eons ago, the Precursors waged a war with the Metal Heads, who called them the Hora-Quan. Over the years, the Metal Heads wiped out the Precursors, destroying their civilization and stealing their Eco.

The Metal Heads seemed to vanish after this. They were completely unknown in the first Jak game, except that they were first brought into the world when Jak activated the Rift Rider in the prologue of Jak II. Over the 500-year period, they attacked and destroyed nearly everything, until Mar built Haven City to protect the people and, more importantly, the Precursor Stone. During the Metal Head Wars, Damas ruled over the city until Praxis overthrew him seized The Throne and banished him to the Wasteland. In order to keep Metal Head attacks on the city under control, Baron Praxis shipped Eco to the nest nearly every week so that the Metal Heads would make small attacks on the city so the people would think the Baron was keeping them away, thus keeping his hold on the throne. Eventually, their leader, Kor, ordered the Metal Bugs and their leader, Kaeden, to INFILTRATE the city, with Kaeden disguised as a resident. Eventually, Daxter destroyed Kaedan and the Metal Bugs. Kor also was in the city, also disguised, to find the Kid (Young Jak/ Mar) and breach the city wall, Krew making Sig do the latter. When the army invaded the city, Kor revealed his true form of Metal Kor, killed Praxis, and returned to the nest, waiting for Jak. Jak eventually arrived, and he learns that Kor captured the Kid, and, after a climatic battle, Jak defeats him. Kor attempts to flee through the Rift Gate, but sevears his head while doing so. The Kid opens the Precursor Stone, and the Ring starts to collapse, but Young Samos and Young Jak return to the past just in time.

AbOUT a year later, in Jak 3, it turns out that the Metal Heads are still alive, and have taken over part of Haven City. Jak soon reaches this part of the city, destroys their weapons, and breaks open the door there. Their tower in the same area was also soon destroyed.

In Jak X: Combat Racing Metal Heads are hunted for sport in the sport hunt rounds of the game.

Metal Kor

The Metal Head Leader, also known as Metal Kor, has power over all Metal Heads. It was believed that the Metal Heads were dependent on Kor and if he died, they would too. But this is later disproven in Jak III Oddly enough, even though he is male, he can lay eggs, and at an alarming rate, which hatch in about a few seconds. Implied in Jak II, he probably ate all but three of The Ancient Precursors, and was eager to eat the Precursor Stone, which he said was "the last Precursor egg".

Biology

Metal Kor, in his true form, is about 50-100 times as big as a normal human. His tail is covered in eggs, and ends with a stinger. He has six legs and two arms. He also has thin wings that can support his mass with little effort. He also can shoot Dark Eco blasts from his mouth, and send out shockwaves of the substance.

Skull Gems

Lodged in the skull of every Metal Head is an unknown type of yellow gem, dubbed "Skull Gems". These gems have something to do with the Precursors. It is unknown as of yet what they truly are.
