Mervyn cumming

Mervyn Cumming is a prolific British Television Director. He has directed multiple episodes of popular soap operas 'Coronation Street', 'Emmerdale' and 'EastEnders'. He also directed 'Brookside', 'Family Affairs', and both versions of 'Crossroads'.

In 2001, he was nominated for a BAFTA Award for his work on 'Byker Grove'.

In 2007, he Guest Directed the feature film 'Tanner', which was nominated for several awards at Film Festivals worldwide. He directed the 2008 documentary 'Dad's Army & Beyond: The Frank Williams Story', which premiered at the BFI's prestigious National Film Theatre as part of the 40th anniversary of 'Dad's Army'. He was later interviewed for the 'Dad's Army Podcast' while attending a screening of the film in 2009.

He continues to direct both drama and documentary, with recent thriller '[...] by Appointment' doing the festival rounds, a television drama 'The Golden Years' in the offing, and a series of documentary DVDs AbOUT the English Language.
