McHenry County Illinois Young Republicans
The McHenry County Illinois Young Republicans is an organization for members of the FIYR of McHenry County between the ages of 18 and 40. It is a county organization. county.
The McHenry County Illinois Young Republicans organization is both social and political in nature. Sponsor events include social events and networking events for members, and members end up becoming close friends. In addition, McHenry County Illinois Young Republican members meet with Republican candidates and officials, learn AbOUT local and national issues, work township precincts, attend social gatherings and Republican Party events, network with other Young Republicans and political groups, organize candidate rallies, manage party technologies, run campaigns, organize and participate in parades, plan and execute fundraisers, join online social communities, provide civic service, and aid non-for-profit organizations. McHenry County Illinois Young Republicans assist all county Republican political candidates and causes. There are many examples of Young Republicans seeking and winning elective office within McHenry County Illinois.
Organizational structure
The McHenry County Illinois Young Republicans Executive Officers have limited control over its Committees and Alumni. A few Committees, including Membership, act as both a recruiting arm & communication medium with MCYR prospects and members, while a majority of committees, including Fundraising & Social, grant strong autonomy to individual officers and event coordinators. Some committees include a Vice-Chairperson to handle issues of individual interest in the same city or plan larger events in a particular part of the county.
McHenry County Illinois Young Republicans elect a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Treasurer, and Secretary. Depending on the need, Committee Chairpersons or other Directors May Be appointed by the Chairperson.
Voting rights at General Meetings are giving to each member of the Executive Board, as well as Committee Chairpersons and Members in good standing. The Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Treasurer, and Secretary serve on the Executive Board and govern all meetings, bylaws and events.
McHenry County Illinois Young Republican members do not pay dues. McHenry County Illinois Young Republicans raise money only through private events and from private donations. The MCYR is technically not associated with the Republican Party. The MCYR own the trademark to the term "McHenry County Young Republicans" and the MCYR logo.
On September 3, 2008, the Illinois Federation of Young Republicans officially adopted "McHenry County Illinois Young Republicans" a Probationary Charter. On March 3, 2009 the Illinois Federation of Young Republicans granted the McHenry County Illinois Young Republicans an Official Charter. McHenry County Illinois Young Republicans is the first Illinois county Young Republican group to reach 750 members prior to reaching an Official Charter.
At the Lincoln Days County Republican Dinner on February 7, 2009, the McHenry County Illinois Young Republican Executive Officers publicly awarded Brent Smith Founder of the McHenry County Illinois Young Republicans, Brian Sager Mentor of the McHenry County Illinois Young Republicans and Bill LeFew donor to the McHenry County Illinois Young Republicans engraved name plates on a plaque which resides in the County Republican Headquarters in Crystal Lake.
Annual Elections
The 2010 McHenry County Illinois Young Republicans Elections will be held by the McHenry County Republican Central Committee's Republican Playday Dinner at the McHenry County Club July 15.
