Mass Fury

The Mass Fury Football team was started in 2006 by Chris Chambers in the city of Worcester. They began playing in the Northeast Independent Football League (NIFL) in the summer of 2006. The Fury finished their first season with a record of 4-4 and just missed out on the playoffs. The team was led by standout cornerback and kick returner Joe Okrah of Northeastern University who had 10 interceptions on the season. Also leading the team was Sean Suslowicz and Ricky Forte for the defense and Ryan Minns and Dave Anthony on the offense.

In 2007, the Fury finished with a 10-0 record and won The New England Bowl Trophy as NIFL Champions beating the Vermont Ravens 29-7. The Fury was named the #1 team in America at the A level by Minorleaguefootballnews.com. The offense was led by Quarterback Ryan Minns, runningback Marcus Price, and receivers Rayshawn Link, Fran Collins, and Shawn Phillips. The defense was led by Joe Okrah, Sean Suslowicz, Gary Senecal, Jay Godino, and Jared Phillips.

In 2008, the Fury moved to the New England Football League (NEFL) AA division and went 7-3 before losing in the first round of the playoffs to the Bay State Renegades. The offense was again led by Minns, Collins, and Matt McRae. The defense was lead by Suslowicz, Cookie Smith, Tony Frustaci, and Godino.
