Mary Pallant

Mary Pallant (born 1960) was a Democratic candidate for the United States House of Representatives in California's 24th congressional district, running against Marta Jorgensen and Jill Martinez for the Democratic nomination to face off against Republican incumbent, Elton Gallegly. The local primary election was held June 3, 2008, and Jorgensen won the nomination.
== Biography ==

Pallant holds a B.A. and M.A. from Antioch University. She has been a small business owner within the insurance industry. Pallant is a resident of Oak Park, California. She is married to Andrew Pallant and has two daughters.

Pallant is the founder and host of the Ventura County Speaker Series, Ventura County, California. In addition, Pallant is the Chair of the Ventura County Commission for Women, Elected Delegate to the California Democratic Party 41st Assembly District, Member of the Organizational Development Committee of the California Democratic Party, and Trustee of the Community Foundation of Oak Park.

Ventura County Speaker Series

Pallant is the founder and host of the Ventura County Speaker Series, which has brought notable speakers such as Gore Vidal, Thom Hartmann, John Rauh, Scott Ritter and Former Ambassador Joe Wilson to the Ventura County, California community. The intent of the Speaker Series has been to bring notable political forces to the area to enrich the minds of local residents with a venue that is easily accessible to the community and free.

Mary Pallant is running for the 24th district California Congressional seat which is currently held by Republican Elton Gallegly.

  • Ending the occupation of Iraq.
  • Reinvesting that money in U.S. infrastructure to address the U.S. economy, jobs, and schools.
  • Single payer, publicly funding-privately run, Universal Health Care.
  • Developing alternative energy and independence, including clean air and green collar jobs.
