Martail Burnett

Martail Marta Burnett (born January 10, 1985 in ) is an American football defensive end for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League. He was signed by the Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2008. He played college football at Utah.

Early years

Burnett attened David Starr Jordan High (Calif.) and was the team captain All-Conference and All-Area He lettered in three sports and was first person from his high school in 18 years to qualify for state track and field meet.

College Career

In 2007 Burnett was All-MWC selection after he recorded 50 tackles, 15 TFL, seven sacks, one interception. In 2006 he was honorable mention All-Mountain West Conference after starting all 13 games and leading team in sacks (5.5) and tackles for loss (10.5). He had 42 total tackles ranked second among Utah's defensive linemen. In 2005 he played in all 12 games and started eight, including the last six, at open end and made 53 total tackles, recorded 7 tackles for a loss and 3.5 sacks and also had a fumble recovery and 2 pass break-ups.
