Marco Fumasoli
Marco Fumasoli (born October 12, 1951, in Zurich) is a Swiss entrepreneur, publisher, film producer, and advertising professional.
Biography
After attending the School of Arts and Crafts, Fumasoli worked as an editor for Schweizer Fernsehen, at the Berlin Film School, and for two advertising agencies. He later studied law, obtaining a lic. iur. degree, and worked in marketing and at the Zurich District Court. In 1987, he returned to SF DRS as a director. From 1990 to 1994, he served as creative director and oversaw a ReDeSign of the visual identity of the Swiss national broadcaster.
For the television channel Schweiz 4, Fumasoli filmed the Swiss landscape from a hot-air balloon; this work evolved into the Swissview project. Fumasoli undertook his first helicopter flights in 1997. Later, he founded his own advertising agency and film production company.
In May 2009, Fumasoli purchased Offizin Zürich Verlag from Manfred Hiefner, the former managing director of Orell Füssli Verlag; in early 2011, however, he transferred a majority stake back to Hiefner and appointed him as managing partner.
