Edouard Gétaz
Edouard Gétaz (; born September 7, 1973) is a Swiss entrepreneur, theatrical producer and filmmaker. He develops and produces operas, films, interactive projects, music festivals, fashion shows, concerts and historical celebrations.
Biography
Edouard Gétaz was born in 1973 in Lausanne, Switzerland. In the mid-90s, Gétaz produced one of the first live Internet streaming events for the Montreux Jazz Festival. In 1998 he co-founded Creatives, an events and communications agency in Switzerland.
In 2004 Gétaz moved to New York and founded the production company Incopix and co-founded Giants Are Small.
Gétaz holds a law degree from Fribourg University, Switzerland, and studied film directing and production at New York University.
Stage productions
Together with Doug Fitch and Frederic Gumy, Gétaz co-founded Giants Are Small, where he produced:
- Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood based on Prokofiev's classic with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall in 2008
- Ligeti’s Le Grand Macabre with the New York Philharmonic in 2010
- Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen with the New York Philharmonic in 2011
- A Dancer's Dream, a ballet production with the New York Philharmonic, based on Stravinsky works, at the Avery Fisher Hall in 2013; also filmed are released as A Dancer's Dream: Two Works by Stravinsky by SpectiCast.
- HK Gruber's Gloria - A Pig Tale with the New York Philharmonic at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2014
- Stravinsky's Petrushka with the New York Philharmonic at the Barbican, 2015; Edouard Getaz also credited as video director.
In May 2014 Edouard Gétaz and Giants Are Small produced Dada Bomb as part of Zürich Meets New York: A Festival of Swiss Ingenuity, organized the Swiss Consulate in New York.

Gétaz has directed a number of films and videos:
- Inside Risk: Shadows of Medellin (2017), co-directed with Andrei Severny
- Virgin Red (2005) premiered at the Locarno Film Festival.
- Freud’s Magic Powder (2009), co-produced by the Swiss National Television premiered at the Locarno Film Festival.
- Proud/Citibank (2011) / Music video
Produced for Citibank’s 200th anniversary by public relations agency Ruder Finn, directed by Edouard Getaz, music produced by Marius de Vries; winner, PR Week “Employee Communications Campaign of the Year”; winner, Silver Stevie.
- Stravinsky's Petrushka with the New York Philharmonic at the Barbican, 2015; Edouard Getaz credited as producer and video director.
- Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood (2015), interactive app, CD, and digital album, co-produced with Universal Music and its classical music label Deutsche Grammophon; Edouard Getaz producer, co-director, video director, and sound designer; narrators Alice Cooper, Campino, and Paul Haenen.
