Mamelodi magistrate court

Mamelodi magistrate court a home for those in need of help, it is both educational and eye-opening environment for SomeOne who's there to learn. As a language student I had the opportunity visit the court and learn how court proceedings are conducted

First day I noticed that the environment was very formal, organised and most of the people are in black and white clothing. Different people had different responsibilities, including the magistrate, prosecutor, attorneys, interpreters, clerks and other officials. i was particularly interested in the role of interpreters because it is closely related to my studies. I observed how interpreters communicated between the court and the accused. I learned that interpreting in court requires accuracy, confidence, confidentiality and professionalism.court interpreters play an important role in ensuring that people understand what is happening during the proceedings. One thinngs that stood for me was the level of respect and discipline that was maintain by the officer in the courtroom, everyoneis expected to keep order in the courtroom and follow rules even the ones sited in the gallery are supposed to comply. Learned some terminology used in court ang gained a better understanding of how different courts officials work together.

Me attending at mamelodi magistrate court was a valuable learning experience. It allowed me to connent what I have learned in class witrh the practical environment. The experience also increased my interest in interpreting and helped me understand the importance of language in the justice system.
