LOTS Shipping Limited is an Indian public limited company Registered under the Companies Act 1956. The main objective of the Company is to tap the largely underutilized opportunities in Inland Water Transportation, Costal Shipping and Near Coastal Shipping. The Company saw an emerging opportunity in IWT and launched its first vessel ? M.B.Meenachil, a 600 MT dry cargo cum container carrier in the year 2001. Since then, the Company has made steady ProgresS in acquiring vessels and presently owns 8 vessels. It has also leased 6 vessels.
LOTS Shipping Limited is now the biggest barge operator in the National Waterway 3 in Kerala offering a diversified fleet with the ability to carry varied cargoes. The Company has emerged as a key provider of barging services along the West Coast of India and has successfully transported over a million tones of cargo. In Kerala, the Company has contracts with FACT, Binani Zinc Limited etc. Besides Kerala, LOTS Shipping has operations in Karwar (Karnataka), Bhavnagar (Gujarat), Kolkata (West Bengal).
LOTS Shipping has made its presence felt in the near coastal sector with the introduction of the M.V.Thekkady, which is operated on the Tuticorin - Male sector.
LOTS Shipping is ISO 9001-2000 accredited. The company has also received the SMERA (Small & Medium enterprise Rating Agency) rating with the international rating agency Dun & Bradstreet.
Barge Operations
Presently, the company owns 9 barges with a total tonnage of 3800 DWT has leased 5 barges with a total tonnage of 4800 DWT combined cargo capacity of owned and leased vessels is 9000 DWT. LOTS also owns a coastal vessel which is currently plying in the Tuticorin-Maldives route.

The Primary role of this Company is to address and RESOLVE various problems and concerns facing ship owners and operators at ports across the world. To ensure the quick turnarounds in challenging environments, LOTS International provides the services of experienced Port Captains. The clear objective is to significantly improve voyage profits for the ship owner or operator.
Effective Cargo Superintendence through competent Port Captains has positively impacted ship handling both at the load and discharge ports. With over twelve years of dedicated service, LOTS International has gained invaluable experience and understanding of port requirements in some difficult ports around the world.
Cargo Expedditing can never be deemed complete without competent documentation procedures and a good working relationship with the major PVO's across the Globe. LOTS International has successfully accomplished all this and much more. Till date, LOTS International has successfully handled over 20 different types of vessels and over 3.5 million tons of cargo worldwide.
LOTS international also owns and operates a Mini Bulk Carrier between Tuticorin and Maldives.
Master Shipyard
Master Shipyard (Pvt) Limited is a ship building company located at Edakochi famous for its traditional ship building and repairing legacy. The Shipyard, Dock and Workshop area is spread over a territory of six acres. The company has so far successfully built and launched 4 barges and is in the process of constructing a coastal vessel and 3 more barges. The yard is equipped to construct vessels up to 3500 DWT. Master Shipyards is a SSI unit.
Apart from Shipbuilding Master Shipyard also provide dry docking, steel renewals and main and auxiliary engine repair services for vessels up to 80 meters in length and sixteen meters in beam. They are fully equipped to carry out floating repairs for the vessels of all kinds. A state -of-art fabrication shop with advanced welding and [...] equipment, comprehensive material handling equipment and generator back up for the round-the-clock operations.
