Movies

  • In the movie Independence Day, the first alien arrived at U.S. Bank Tower. The invaders then throws a powerful beam and destroys the tower, then the city.
  • In the 1997 film Volcano. A volcano threatens Los Angeles after it forms in The Famous La Brea Tar Pits.
  • In the movie Hancock, different destructions was brought due to Hancock's laziness and clumsiness.
  • In the apocalyptic film The Day After Tomorrow. Series of F-3 to EF-5 devastate some densely populated areas in the city.
  • In the 2007 Korean film Dragon wars. The devastation arrives first at Los Angeles Skyline after the imoogi runs through it then climbs the U.S. Bank Tower. After climbing the devastation continues to Downtown Los Angeles.
  • In the Horror-Suspense movie Right At Your Door, Several dirty bombs are blown in different parts of Los Angeles. Spilling toxic.
  • In the Terminator Series, a hi-tech robot and a human named John Conor always engage a battle in densely populated areas in the city.
  • In the movie Blue Streak, the main story revolves around Downtown Los Angeles.
  • In the movie L.A. Confidential, it centers around greater Los Angeles.
  • In the movie Crank, the main events focus on the places of Downtown Los Angeles. The climax of this film along with its resolution is also in Downtown Los Angeles.
  • In the movie Predator 2, it centers around an alien battle in some densely populated areas in the city.
  • In the production movie Demolition Man, Los Angeles is referred to San Angeles. In this fim, the city suffers a massive earthquake and it's neighbouring metropolitan. Several battles occurred at some places, like Wilshire Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard.
  • In the movie Escape from L.A., the city suffers from massive earthquakes and divides the city from California. After that, highly knowned and deadly criminals populates the city.
  • In the movie The Core, a jet mistakenly lands on Los Angeles River.
  • In the 2007 movie Southland Tales, the US Bank Tower stands as headquarters for US-IDENT, a Big Brother surveillance agency under the guise of a national security think-tank. The film was set on downtown Los Angeles.

  • In the famous Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas the area called Los Santos was portrayed by Downtown Los Angeles.
  • The Twisted Metal Series points out about some settings were based on Los Angeles, for example, Mount Lee can be seen on Twisted Metal 2.
  • True Crime: Streets of LA: features a large part of Los Angeles.
  • Midnight Club II and Midnight Club: Los Angeles also features various parts of the city.

  • In the music I Love L.A., Randy Newman mentioned places where the riches, and the poorest, lives and some famous boulevards on Los Angeles.
  • In Madonna's Music Video for her song La Isla Bonita. It can be notice that it was filmed around Downtown Los Angeles.

In TV Series

  • In the TV series 24, an episode has a nuclear bomb heading to L.A. This is also the most recognized episode.
  • In the TV series Nip/Tuck, the setting was Miami, Florida but was filmed in Los Angeles. You can notice it by seeing some of the building in L.A.
  • In the TV series The Real World: Los Angeles, it is the second season of MTV's popular reality television series The Real World, which focuses on a group of seven diverse strangers living together for several months, as the cameras follow their lives and interpersonal relationships.
  • The Beverly Hillbillies is an American television series about a hillbilly family transplanted to Beverly Hills, California after finding crude oil on their land.
  • In the TV series City of Angels, the show centered around the lives of the medics at Angels of Mercy Hospital in Los Angeles.
  • In the TV series L.A. Law, one of the famous American television legal drama that ran from 1986 to 1994, the LAPD always patrol and negotiate around Los Angeles.
  • Reptilian aliens posing as humans overtook the planet in 1983's V(The Original Miniseries), but the drama revolved around Resistance fighters based in Los Angeles. The alien's imposing mothership constantly hovered over the city, residents were harvested for food, and the city's water supply was secretly drained.
