List of trips made by Dmitry Medvedev

This is a list of trips made by Dmitry Medvedev, the 3rd President of Russia (2008–2012) and the 39th Russian Prime Minister and the tenth Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, incumbent since 2012.

During his presidency and premiership, Medvedev has traveled to 60 different countries internationally, in addition to many more domestic trips within Russia.

As President

2008

  • May 2008 – First official visit of Dmitry Medvedev as President of Russia held in Kazakhstan (Astana).
  • May 2008 – Official visit to China.
  • 5 June 2008 – Official visit to Germany (Berlin).
  • 22 June 2008 – Official visit to the Republic of Belarus.
  • 3 July 2008 – Official visit to Azerbaijan.
  • 4 July 2008 – Official visit to Turkmenistan.
  • July 2008 – Official visit to Kazakhstan to take part in the CIS summit.
  • July 2008 – Official visit to Japan to a meeting of Heads of States' members of the G-8 with George W. Bush, Silvio Berlusconi, Angela Merkel, Nicolas Sarkozy and other leaders.
  • August 2008 – Official visit to Tajikistan, where a meeting of heads of SCO member states was held.
  • 22 September 2008 – Visit to Kazakhstan (Aktobe).
  • 8 October 2008 – Conference on World Politics in France.
  • 9 October 2008 – Official visit to Kyrgyzstan.
  • October 2008 – Official visit to Armenia.
  • November 2008 – Visit to France.
  • November 2008 – Official visit to the United States. took part in the summit of G-20, following the global financial crisis.
  • November 2008 – Official visit to Latin America. During the week-long tour of Medvedev, he visited four countries: Peru, Brazil, Venezuela and Cuba. In Peru, Medvedev took part in the APEC summit, which met separately with leaders of the United States, Chile, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Australia, China and Brunei.
  • 27 November 2008 – Official visit to Venezuela. Medvedev became Russia's first president has been in Venezuela. In Caracas, attended a meeting of leaders of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas. The prospects of cooperation with Medvedev discussed the Bolivian President Evo Morales, Honduran President Manuel Zelaya, Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega, President of Ecuador Rafael Correa and the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Cuba Ricardo Cabrisas.
  • 28 November 2008 – Visit to Cuba (Havana). Here, Medvedev met with Raul Castro, as he was received, and Fidel Castro.

  • April 2009 – Official visit to England (London) as part of an international G-20 summit to discuss ways out of the global economic crisis, and where was the first meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama.
  • 20–21 April 2009 – State visit to Finland (Helsinki).
  • 19–20 June 2009 – Official visit to the Netherlands.

  • 21–22 September 2009 – State visit to Switzerland, first in the history of bilateral relations.
  • 23–26 September 2009 – Official visit to the United States at the sixty-fourth session of the UN General Assembly and in the international summit of G-20, to discuss ways out of the global economic crisis, and had separate meetings with the Heads of State and Government of Japan, USA, Denmark, Algeria, Austria, Germany and Turkey.
  • 9 October 2009 – Visit to Moldova. Participation in the meeting of CIS heads of state.
  • 16 October 2009 – Visit to Kazakhstan. Observations of the final phase of the exercise of the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces of Collective Security Treaty Organization.
  • 21 October 2009 – Official visit to Serbia (Belgrade). The visit is timed to the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade from the Nazis.
  • 9 November 2009 – Working visit to Germany (Berlin). The visit is timed to the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
  • 15–16 November 2009 – official visit to Singapore in the international APEC Summit.
  • 18 November 2009 – Visit of the 24th Russia-EU summit in Sweden.
  • 27 November 2009 – visit to Belarus. Participation in meetings of the Interstate Council of Eurasian Economic Community.

  • 18 December 2009 – The UN summit on global climate change was held in Copenhagen (Denmark). Medvedev's speech on the same platform with dozens of heads of state.

2013

Medvedev made his speech to the World Economic Forum members, January 2013
  • 22–26 January Official visit in Davos, Switzerland as Head of the Russia's delegation to the World Economic Forum. Met with British Prime Minister David Cameron, Swiss President Ueli Maurer, Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte and the Prime Minister of Georgia, Bidzina Ivanishvili in first meeting between Russian and Georgian high-rank officials after South Ossetian war.
