2004-05
Prior to draft day
- On June 21, acquired #2 pick in the 2004 NBA Draft from the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for #4 and #33 picks in 2004 NBA Draft. As part of the deal, Bobcats agreed to select Predrag Drobnjak in their expansion draft.
- On June 22, acquired a future first round pick from the Phoenix Suns, which originally belongs to the Cleveland Cavaliers. As part of the deal, Bobcats agreed to select Jahidi White in their expansion draft.
- On June 22, held their inaugural expansion draft and selected 19 players.
- On June 23, acquired a future first round pick from the Cleveland Cavaliers, which originally belongs to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for forward Aleksandar Pavlović. Traded center Zaza Pachulia to the Milwaukee Bucks for #45 pick in 2004 NBA Draft.
