Title=The NeverEnding Story III: Return to Fantasia

WrittenBy=Doug Walker
Rob Walker

Aux1=Doug Walker

Aux2=27:54

OriginalAirDate=

ShortSummary=The Critic cries for a few seconds before introducing Sequel Month. He collects himself and proceeds to review The NeverEnding Story III: Return to Fantasia (1994). He finds it even worse than its predecessor, citing its dumbed-down plot and characters, particularly the Rockbiter and Falkor, and numerous continuity errors and the incompetence of its main character, Bastian, namely how he never takes advantage of his wishes, such as in the last movie, despite every other character doing so. He also hates how the villains are reduced to schoolyard bullies, but enjoys Jack Black's performance. Special criticism is reserved for Rock Biter singing "Born to Be Wild", particularly as it replaces the regular credits song. In the end, The Critic drives to Home Depot (laughing insanely the whole way) and buys a crowbar, returns home, and destroys the DVD. Plot flaw: He assumes that the Rock Biter family are all VOICED by the same actor, when in fact the Rock Biter and Rock Biter Jr. were both voiced by Gary Martin, while Mrs. Rock Biter was voiced by Mac McDonald.

ShortSummary=The Critic reviews FernGully 2: The Magical Rescue (1998), though this time without assistance from the Nostalgia Chick. Though he likes the premise of exploring the temptations of the human world, he is not impressed by the weak story, sloppy animation and underdeveloped characters, but considers it a harmless (albeit pointless) film. He also questions whether or not the original film was even popular enough to spawn a sequel.

ShortSummary=The Critic reviews The Secret of NIMH 2: Timmy to the Rescue (1998). He criticizes how the film centers on a background character while ignoring Mrs. Brisby, and also contains inferior animation, and the main character, Timmy, getting praise before he actually knows what to do, which seemingly turns out to be a self-fulfilling prophecy. Special criticism is reserved for an idiotic plot twist where Timmy's brother Martin becomes the mad scientist in the climax despite complimenting Eric Idle's voicework as the corrupt Martin. In the end, he calls the Death Star to destroy the DVD.

ShortSummary=The Critic reviews Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation (1986). He concludes that the first film is actually decent compared to the sequel, criticizing the lack of character development and consistency of events, particularly the retconning of the characters' already-established origins. He does however find some humor in the performance of the villain Dark Heart, particularly certain speech patterns and the general campiness of the character. In the end, he says he is willing to do anything to forget all the horrible sequels he had to sit through during the month. Sage appears, dressed like The Devil, and pretends to take away all of The Critic's memories of the movies in exchange for all of his money.

Throughout the video he staggers around the convention building in a daze, being so stunned by how awful the movie is, and acting as though he is unable to review anymore. He criticizes the ridiculous plot, wide angle shots, recurring jokes, acting, and finds the premise - that babies are born with intelligence, but lose it as they grow older - stupid. He calls it "disgustingly insulting" for turning the shipwreck into a parable about whaling, stating that everyone survived the sinking, and numerous absurdities (such as the humans being able to talk to animals)However he does praise the animation. Special criticism is reserved for the first scene where the female protagonist talks to the dolphins. He finds out that there is a spin-off film, though he claims it will not be reviewed, as he looks the film cover and shouts Darth Vader's 'No' from "Revenge Of The Sith". He considers it to be one of the worst remakes of all time from its original version, if not "the" worst, criticizing the ridiculous plot, lack of subtlety in the characters (particularly the character Theo's implied lesbianism being made more blatant and Owen Wilson's character pointing out the obvious), cartoonish special effects, lack of actual scares, Liam Neeson's bland performace, the anti-climactic ending, and elements that thoroughly insult the original. Special criticism is reserved for the climax where Lili Taylor's character Eleanor gives a speech to the villain Hugh Crain about the power of love, which leads to the Critic to compare it to the ending of the original and burst in a fit of rage. Already disliking the actual cartoon (due to childhood torment), he criticizes it as an episode of the show that is too long, disliking the bland unfunny characters, stupid moments, and weird plot points. Special criticism is reserved for when Doug and Skeeter disguise the monster as a female student, and all the other female students describe him as "cute", in addition to a dubbing mistake where the "N" in Funkytown was hard to hear, making it sound like "[...]". However, he is ecstatic when he finds that Disney changed the opening theme, considers a robot as a likable character, and finds Mr. Dink's virtual reality scene to be funny. ShortSummary=The Critic reviews Felix the Cat: The Movie (1988). He considers it one of the worst films he has ever had to review, citing the clumsy and chaotic animation, poor sound editing, pitiful lip synching, horrifying 3D effect in the opening, terrible characters and lack of any thought, focus and structure. ShortSummary=The Critic reviews Moulin Rouge! (2001), along with The Nostalgia Chick and YouTube celebrity brentalfloss in a musical format. Even though the others like the film, he absolutely hates it, criticizing the lack of original music, unnecessarily fast-paced editing, rushed fairytale romance, senseless musical numbers, over the top acting, plot holes, repetitive themes, and terrible writing (though he does seem to let up at "El Tango de Roxanne", admitting he admires the choreography, sets and design). Special criticism is reserved for the heroine's ridiculous plan to save the hero's life by breaking his heart. Throughout the review, brentalfloss and Nostalgia Chick try to convice the Critic that this film lives up to its reception; however, as they progress, they both express their anger towards the main characters' lack of logic and bipolar relationship. In the end, he agrees with his co-reviewers that it is a guilty pleasure. In a previous out-of-character video, Walker had ranked the film as the number one movie he hates that seemingly everyone else loves. In his list, "The Top 11 Nostalgia Critic Episodes", Doug Walker called this his favorite review he has done. He later put the film at Number 9 on his "Worst Movies Nostalgia Critic's reviewed" list.

ShortSummary=The Critic reviews Babes in Toyland (1986). While he bashes the poor effects, lame acting, stupid songs, and story elements that come from nowhere, he considers it enjoyable because of its campiness. During the review, he is pestered by the Ghost of Christmas Future to do a Christmas Carol parody. When he refuses, he allows the ghost to pick the next movie to review, which, unfortunately for him, is How the Grinch Stole Christmas, the only Christmas film he genuinely hates.

ShortSummary=The Critic reviews The Grinch (2000) entirely in rhyme reminiscent of the original television special. He questions why the live-action film needed to be made, let alone gaining a cult following, calling the original 1966 special a classic while criticizing Jim Carrey's obnoxious performance, poor sets, terrible camera work, Donald Peterman's muted colors & gloomy cinematography, atrocious jokes and the Whos being depicted as worse characters than the Grinch himself. However, he praises the Grinch's makeup and the third act's loyalty to the book. In the end, he looks at the comments to see if anyone hated the movie, but he realizes he cannot change other people's opinions. Special criticism is reserved for when the Grinch tricks the Mayor of Whoville to kissing his dog Max in the rear.

ShortSummary=The Critic reviews Child's Play (1988) with Phelous. They criticize the plot holes, rubbish acting, preposterous premise, and its overall silliness. Phelous points out how the movie goes downhill when Chucky is shown moving and talking, as he was more creepy when he was still inanimate. The Critic ends the review by stating that while he can see why some people can be frightened at the film, it is "pretty dated and corny." Special criticism is reserved for the seemingly faulty devices the characters use throughout the film, such as an exploding toy and a gas oven that explodes immediately. Note: The Critic and Phelous did a review of the sequels Child's Play 2 and 3, but both were uploaded on Phelous' channel.
