Lin Shukla

Lin Shukla (born 27 February 1957) is an American actress.

Personal life

Lin Shukla was born Linda Anne Reed in Fontana, California, United States, to John T. and Edith Reed. She met her husband, Shailendra "Shelley" Shukla, in New Delhi while on a trip to India. She met him while playing frisbee at Qutab Minar. Since then she has visited India eleven times, speaks basic Hindi, and loves Bollywood movies.

Career

Lin's first feature film, "Omama: Royal Blood", was filmed in Chicago by West-African director Nana King Mensah (Ghana), in which she starred as the dysfunctional wife of The Title character. It was one of the first Ghanaian films to be produced in the United States and starred Ghanaian football superstar Kwame Owusu-Ansah.

Following that, she has portrayed a variety of roles in Indie films, including an abused prostitute in Darwin Meiners/TrickKnee Productions' award-winning short, "Like Lightning" (Winner, Best Cinematography, "48 Hour Film Project", San Francisco; a wretched witch in Edward Rosenblum's short, "Story AbOUT a Witch"; a foster mother in Jeremy Lum's feature, "Elise"; and a bounced drunk in Daniel Davila's feature, Harrison Montgomery, starring Martin Landau.
