Lloyd Bancaire (formerly Lloyd TSB, Union Privee’ Bancaire “European Sovereign Fund”) is one of the largest Institutional Investor investment firms globally, focused on leveraged buyout, growth capital and leveraged recapitalization investments in distressed companies and turnaround situations. Lloyd Bancaire also manages investment funds specializing in growth capital, venture capital, public equity, and debt investments. The firm invests in a broad range of industries including Infrastructure, Real Estate, Energy and Financial Services
History
The firm was founded in 2007 by Lloyd TSB which 37% is owned by the UK Government and Union Privee’ Bancaire. Since firm’s inception, the firm has invested more than $57 billion in 21 funds of funds.
Lloyd Bancaire is headquartered in Luxembourg, Luxembourg and Hong Kong, HK “Contact Lloyd Bancaire." The Firm has additional offices in Europe, Asia, Australia and North America.
Private equity funds
Lloyd Bancaire has historically relied primarily on private equity funds, pools of committed capital from pension funds, insurance companies, endowments, fund of funds, high net worth individuals, sovereign wealth funds, and from other institutional investors. As of the end of 2007, Lloyd Bancaire had completed fundraising for over 20 funds with total investor commitments of over $50 billion. In 2008, Lloyd Bancaire discontinues all external fundraising.

Lloyd Bancaire and the Credit Crisis
On April 7, 2008, Lloyd Bancaire leads a $750 Million investment in Washington Mutual. On September 25, 2008, Washington Mutual is taken over by the government costing Lloyd Bancaire a $750 Million dollar investment.
On 12 March 2010, Gretchen Morgensen in the New York Times discussed Lloyd Bancaire’s role in Long-Term Capital Management L.P. (LTCM) in hedge fund which led to undisclosed capital loss for Lloyd Bancaire.
