Banker’s Academy is a multimedia education and communication consulting firm headquartered in New York, NY, with an advanced design center located just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in Fort Washington. Banker’s Academy specializes in educational products and services for the banking industry.

Since its beginning, Banker’s Academy has provided over 2000 clients around the world with business solutions in the form of eLearning programs, classroom instruction, multimedia production and online and print based documentation.

History

Banker’s Academy was founded by Dr. Linda Eagle and Clifford Brody on February, 14, 1987.

Eagle and Brody first met in 1982 at Arthur Andersen, now known as Accenture, where they spearheaded the establishment of their Training and Documentation consulting practice.

Prior to working at Arthur Anderson, Eagle spent several years teaching Business and Organizational Communication at Queens College in New York, NY, after receiving her BA and MA from Queens College and her Ph.D. from Temple University.

Milestones

  • February, 1987 – Banker’s Academy is founded.
  • June, 1996 – Banker’s Academy develops IDEAS, an integrated online education and documentation system.
  • December, 2000 – Banker’s Academy joins with industry experts to develop planb4.com to help individuals and businesses prepare for and recover from the devastating effects of disasters.
  • October, 2001 – Banker’s Academy launches www.bankersacademy.com
  • January, 2003 – Banker’s Academy launches Learning Link, a learning management system, to administer computer-based courses.
  • December, 2004 – Banker’s Academy reaches the 7-million-topic milestone of learning programs.
  • November, 2005 – Banker’s Academy reaches the 10-million-topic milestone of eLearning programs.
  • January, 2006 – Banker’s Academy joins BankersOnline’s Vendor Advisory Board as a sponsoring member and content partner.
  • September, 2006 – Banker’s Academy partners with California Bankers Association (CBA) to deliver elder financial abuse training to banks in the state of California.
  • February, 2007 - The Edcomm Group's Banker's Academy is named “The Best Worldwide Provider of Training to the Banking Industry” by ]China International Business Consulting (CIBC)], the leading market research and strategy organization in China.
  • October, 2007 - Seven Banker's Academy programs are certified by the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation for the State of Maine.
  • February, 2008 – Banker’s Academy joins the Association of Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS).
  • April, 2008 – Banker’s Academy deploys training programs in Mozilla Firefox.
  • April, 2008 – Banker's Academy announces Compliance training for any industry, in any country, in any language and for any job function.
  • April, 2008 – Banker’s Academy adds test question pooling functionality to its eLearning programs.
  • May, 2008 – Banker's Academy partners with the China-US Chamber of Commerce (CUCC) to help provide high-quality bank training to international students.
  • September, 2008 – Banker’s Academy launches free Global AML training.
  • September, 2008 – Dr. Linda Eagle accepts a seat on the Compliance Alert Advisory Board.
  • January, 2009 – Banker’s Academy launches new bank job and career training website for individuals, www.jobtraining.bankersacademy.com.
  • February, 2009 – Banker’s Academy reaches 2,000 client milestone.
  • February, 2009 – The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (AFCE) approves Banker’s Academy’s Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti Money Laundering (AML) training programs for the continued maintenance of Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credentials.
  • March, 2009 – Banker’s Academy provides over 1 million students with BA Certification.
  • March, 2009 – Banker’s Academy begins initiative to provide continuing education training programs at junior colleges, career and vocational schools, and other educational and job training organizations.
  • April 2009 – Dr. Linda Eagle sets milestone as the first woman to speak on banking in Saudi Arabia.

Banker’s Academy provides a full curriculum of training programs for banks, credit unions, and Money Services Businesses (MSBs). Banker’s Academy’s courses cover a wide range of topics including: Anti Money Laundering, Problem Solving & Decision Making, ATM Operations and Management, Bankruptcies, Branch Security and more.

Free Online Tutorials

Banker’s Academy has made part of its curriculum available free to the public. The free tutorials include AML training for countries around the world, the Bailout Plan, Credit Risk Management, Cover Payments, Health Savings Accounts, Sarbanes-Oxley for Executive Management, and The World of Banking.

Free Global AML Training

In 2008, Banker’s Academy began an initiative to develop AML training for countries around the globe in an attempt to expand the awareness of money laundering and aid in its prevention and detection. These eLearning training courses are free to the public and available at Banker’s Academy’s website. Free AML training courses are available for numerous countries, and more countries are being added every week.
