Lawrence Dial

Lawrence Dial (born in Rochester, New York) is a playwright whose play Old Kid Cod was performed at The American Theatre of Actors in late June 2007.

The son of Barbara and David Dial, he was raised in Newburgh, Indiana, with his brother, lawyer Beau Dial, and, twin sisters, college students Mary and Charlotte. He graduated from the University of Evansville, where he met long-time collaborator and actress Kelli Giddish (All My Children, The Burg).

His plays include: Slight Rebellion of Madison (again), The Word "Amazing" Comes To Mind, Fish Have No Eyelids, Kings Wait In Time; Aces Take Their Pick, Arts [...] Crafts, The Fort, and A Horse and Duck.

His plays often involve the use of slang, jargon, or invented language.

The first act of his most recent play BEEF, was performed as part of the Crown Point Festival at the Abrons Art Center, October 2007.

Dial lives on Avenue D in New York City.
