Lavasani

One of old and famous Iranian families who chiefly live in Tehran and are told to be of Mohammad descendants. Sources says much AbOUT them as old as early days of Qajar dynasty.
The name in Persian means one who is from city of Lavasan hence nowadays there are too many people named Lavasani, but not many of them belong to the mainstream family.

Subculture

Considering family culture, there are contrasting trends, ranging from conservative Ulama to highly fashionable liberal women. Inherent conservatism comes from the fact that they contributed a lot to the Islamic clergy during recent centuries. These clerics mostly had prominent social status but less considered high-ranked between Mullas themselves. Furthermore western liberal trend of family comes from their wealth and their living in modern Tehran. But still there are some affinities among them like sense of family BOND, general agreement on being Shia muslim, political tolerance, absence of fundamentalist trends and tendency toward ambitionism.
