Kent Simpson (ice hockey b. 1992)
Kent Simpson (born March 26, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender for the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL. He was drafted 58th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
Playing career
Following the conclusion of his season with the Everett Silvertips in the WHL, the Rockford IceHogs signed Simpson to a professional try-out (PTO) contract, and he made his professional debut on April 14, 2012, making 38 saves in a 4-3 shootout loss in the IceHogs' final game of the season. On May 29, 2012, the Chicago Blackhawks signed Simpson to a three-year, entry-level contract valued at $900,000 per year. Simpson was assigned to the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL on October 6, 2012.
