Location
The KV is located near the Ahmednagar Fort, situated in Defense area. It is between Savedi and Bhingar making it an ideal school for people residing in the city area and army quarters.
Facility
The school is a single floor building with open area for plenty of trees surrounding the school premises. The trees supply rich fresh air with cool breeze to the school making a friendly environment for the students during the morning hours. The school has 32 Classrooms, 3 Science Labs, 3 Computer Labs, 1 Library, 1 Resource room ( Secondary wing), 1 Activity room, 1 Staff common Room and Sports Grounds - 01 Basketball court, 01 volleyball court (both cemented),02 volleyball mud ground, ho-kho and kabaddi grounds under development.
History
The school was built in the year 1963 mainly for the children of DeFence personals who work in that area. Ahmednagar is an Defense training place with many regiments. The school gives admissions for all students with first priority for Army then Central Govt. employees followed by State Govt. employees and then others.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is an autonomous body set up by The INDIAN Ministry of Education. To cater to the educational needs of the children of Defense personals and other nearly residing civilians, K.V. No. 1 Ahmednagar is functioning with nearly 1300 students and 49 staff members.
School had divisions for The Primary, Secondary and Senior Secondary Sections. It is a co-educational institution, with Classes I to X (3 sections each) and XI and XII (science), affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.
. Attendance is more than one thousand two hundred students. Its current headmaster is Mr. RAM SHRANGARE. It celebrated its golden jubilee in the year 2013.
- Just recently the school is targeted for demolition from the RHO Mumbai as the building is set for reconstruction. Presently the school has classes from I to VIII only and runs on two shifts. 1st shift for classes VI to VIII from 6:55 am to 12:40 pm and 2nd shift for classes I to V from 12:50 pm to 5:30 pm. Classes IX to XII have been shifted to KV No.2 MIRC, Ahmednagar temporarily.
